Stayed last night in the lovely Hilton Garden Inn Vanderbilt, with a discounted rate courtesy of my wonderful father-in-law and his colleague Juan. I am so grateful for the opportunity to see the beautiful hotel they have built! Everyone was extremely nice and the room was fantastic. The ninth floor event room boasts an incredible view, too (see picture). Very cool!
After settling in, I headed over for dinner at the Flying Saucer, a favorite local hotspot. The place was packed and there was really good live music. I met up with some friends that happened to be passing through the area at the same time, and we started our meals off with their brat con queso dip and the chicken nachos. Both were FANTASTIC! The brat con queso dip was especially good, as it was a spicy cheese dip with big shavings of spicy bratwurst. Yummmm... coupled with warm tortillas; very unique, very delicious.
Had a huge slice of pepperoni and jalapeno pizza for dinner, with a couple of Woodpecker Pear ciders, and it was time to hit the city! Went to too many places to name them all(didn't stay long at each), but had a great time! They were all pretty similar, and everyone was having a good time -- two were Lonnie's and Decades. There were a lot of people out, and it reminded me of a mix between River Street (Savannah, GA) and Bourbon Street (New Orleans, LA). Both are fun, and it resembled each in different ways.

Off now for St. Charles, MO, for my cousin's engagement party. Yahoo!
I love the picture of the street at night! Nashville is such a fun city!
