This past weekend, Debby W. and I ventured to Washington, D.C. for the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear". We had a GREAT time being patriotic at the rally, staying in Alexandria w/ Debby's daughter's family, and attending their neighborhood Halloween costume party!
The rally had a great feel -- fun, funny, friendly, and definitely diverse. It was a great group of people coming together to support compromise and oppose political mudslinging.
Though it took us about an hour and a half to simply buy Metro tickets, then the additional time to make it to D.C., it was WELL worth it to experience the rally (even from one half mile away from the stage, at least), enjoy D.C.'s festive goings on, and munch on a street vendor Polish sausage smack dab in the middle of Pennsylvania Ave.!
Below are some videos we captured on my Flip Camera. Enjoy! Until the next trip...
